Where Do You Get Enough Good Backlinks?

Information Marketing in General, Search Engine Optimization No Comments »

If you work with SEO, you know that the secret to developing traffic is getting backlinks to help your site rank well.

There are lots of possible sources of backlinks, at all levels of cost and quality. And it is best to have several different sources and different kinds of links leading to your websites, so most of us use multiple sources.

It’s a constant struggle to find sources of more and better backlinks at more affordable prices, and of the quality and quantity your need.

New vendors are constantly coming into the marketplace with offers, some good some bad, most so-so… How do you sort them out? How do you find the good ones? And how do you avoid the bad ones that will just waste your money without delivering results?

It can be done, but it’s a complex and multi-faceted process.

Trial and error, chatting with friends on forums, learning to look for certain things and avoid others. For example you learn to lean toward those that are business-like, no nonsense, results oriented. And you avoid those “dream merchants” that sell with hype and exhorbitant claims…

And you try out new ones, marking the last day of their guarantee period on your calendar!

Then keep the good ones and drop those that are bad or under-performing.

Everyone’s needs are different, but good suppliers will serve many varied needs.

For my part, I operate over a hundred websites and close to 40 blogs, mostly doing affiliate marketing. Here are the ones I currently use, what seems to work for me.

1. For new sites, to get 250 or so solid, semi-permanent links as a base, a link-building foundation, I use this foundation source.

2. For lots and lots of good, fairly low-quality links, for volume, I use this source of huge numbers of links.

3. For selected links by category, that you can use to promote specific KWs, this is the best specific link source for semi-permanent links I have found.

4. For “storming the walls” of the first pages of the Search Engines, with good links for $0.10-$0.14 each, you can overwhelm your competition using this high-quality/low cost source.

As always, I am experimenting with and trying out new sources. If any of these pan out, I will come back here and add them to this list.

Here’s hoping the above sources work as good for you as they have for me!

Happy link-building!

Last Chance to Get “Keyword Snatcher”, a Phenomenal Keyword Finder!

Beginning Affiliate Marketing, Information Marketing in General, Search Engine Optimization No Comments »

I just finished testing the latest version of “Keyword Snatcher”, a terrific brand-new KeyWord-finding tool that is phenomenal!  It is a “must-have” for anyone who needs good Key Words or does KW research.

If that doesn’t include you, then just ignore this message.

If you are doing anything that requires good key words, you owe it to yourself to have a look at this. Google has been deceiving people who use its free Keyword tool into thinking that’s all the KW’s there are.

Actually there are lots more, several times what Google admits. Take a look at the video here:

http://jorchav.com/suggests/KeywordSnatcher

And read a few of the testimonials. I was a beta tester for this product. I know many of the people who left testimonials. This is for real…

And it’s only available this week, through Friday June 25. The vendor does not want to let too many of these get out. The users have a competitive advantage over everyone else, since they can easily find good keywords with low competition… So they are time-limiting the offer.

Just wanted you to know about it. Sorry for the sudden and short notice, but if you work with KeyWords, this would not wait…

EZArticle Links… Update

Search Engine Optimization 1 Comment »

O.K. Guys and Gals, here’s my report:

EZArticleLink launched on schedule on February 22. Since I had already been active with them as a free “beta” member, I upgraded my Silver Level membership to a Gold Level.

Here’s what I found out on the inside:

1. For every website you register in the EZArt system you get:

A. The right to publish articles on the EZA network. These articles will be published 100-200 times for Silver level (free) members and 200-300 times for Gold level, paid members.

B. You get an article directory, that you set up on your website to receive the articles of others. This is not a blog somewhere, it is a real article directory set up as part of your website, pages on your website so that your site gets credit for the pages, traffic and activity.

C. All articles are spun to make all copies published unique. All must pass a human editor/reviewer to make sure they are well-spun, coherent, readable and generally acceptable. This to ensure only quality articles in the system.

D. You can only publish articles with anchor-text links back to the website submitted. There are three KW’s allowed per article submission. These are shown in a random pattern as your article gets published 200-300 times. The distribution per KW is 40-20-20 with the remaining 20% aimed at KW’s in the title, to promote the article itself and thus the sites on which the article is posted. So for 250 publications, your main KW will be posted 100 times, the next 2, 50 times each and the remaining 50 articles will be promoting versions of the article published on other sites in the system.

2. You are graded on your articles. Every article you submit without having it bounced back for corrections gives you one point. Every time an article of yours gets sent back to you to correct errors, you get two points subtracted. The resulting “Author Reputation” score tells the editor how closely he/she needs to monitor your articles in the future. [My score in now 30. I have had one article bounced back for an error I overlooked on the 2nd article I submitted. All the rest went through with no problem. It's not hard to qualify an article.]

3. Article submissions require a spin-able title, a 2-sentence summary/teaser and spun text of 250-600 words of final spun text. [I use The Best Spinner, and by using it, it takes me less than an hour to spin an article]

4. You can also enter “Post Only” sites, when you just want content and not links.

5. Support tickets are responded to within 1-15 hours, depending on when you submit them. Answers are knowledgeable, clear and fast. Good system there.

O.K. That’s the technical usage info.

Here is my experience with EZArticle Link to date:

In my case, As of today, March 28, I have the following stats:

Websites entered: 22

Post-only sites: 0

Articles entered/published: 31

Site Number Articles Published Number of Times Published
Site 1 3 206 + 190 + 131 = 527
Site 2 2 233 + 141             = 374
Site 3 3 218 + 187 + 205 = 610
Site 4 0
Site 5 3 118 + 202 + 222 = 542
Site 6 2 189 + 113 = 302
Site 7 2 160 + 123 = 283
Site 8 1 205 = 205
Site 9 1 109 = 109
Site 10 1 90   =  90
Site 11 0
Site 12 4 118 + 141 + 164 + 200 = 623
Site 13 0
Site 14 1 20    =  20
Site 15 0
Site 16 1 135        = 135
Site 17 2 142 + 171      = 313
Site 18 1 191        = 191
Site 19 3 141 + 184 + 149 = 474
Site 20 0
Site 21 0
Site 22 1 116        = 116
Totals: 31 4,914

This means that my articles have already (now) been published a total of 4,914 times within the EZArt system. This means:

Number of publications:

Of lead KW = 4,914 x .40 =  1,966 times in article directories within the system
Of 2nd KW = 4,914 x .20 =  983 times
Of 3rd KW = 4,914 x .20 =   983 times

That’s almost 4,000 backlinks out there and being discovered by SE’s every day!

Not too shabby! In fact, not shabby at all!

I have now been in the system for about 1 month as a Silver Level member and about 1 month as a Gold Level member.

I am seeing/experiencing these benefits:

1. My link counts per KW have been climbing rapidly, week by week!

2. The page counts for my sites have been going up too! (Yahoo tracks this. Other SE’s use it as an overall indicator of authority)

What I have learned:

1. EZArticle links is a powerful and easy-to-use link-building system! (and with monthly memberships still available at $29/mo., it is still VERY reasonably priced; LOTS of Bang per buck!)

2. For small, start-up sites, 1 article is enough to build links and start traffic.

For middle sized, 3-500 backlink sites, 2 articles are about right.

For large, 1,000 to 3,000 backlink sites, you can do 3 articles.

[Careful about doing more than that! Sometimes this thing is like trying to get a drink of water from a Fire Hose!

EZArt sends out lots of links that get found. It's easy to get a site "Sandboxed" for too many links, too fast. I pushed Kenneth Koh, the guy behind EZArt, to add a "Pause" button for each article so you can shut off the postings if you see that the backlinks are building too fast. I now have 4 of my articles paused...]

3. You also get Article directories with high-quality articles, articles that won’t embarrass you, on you sites to increase authority…

In summary:

EZArticleLink is an excellent  link-building service. At its current price of $29/month it’s a steal. It would still be a good deal even if it were already at its targeted $47/month membership cost. (Visit the site to see how membership fees increase with additional sign-ups.)

EZArt had about 4-500 participating article directories when I started about 2 months ago. That number has grown to 1,500 plus, and continues to grow.

I am especially impressed by two features:

1. The human screening of articles to maintain quality.

2. The internal promotion, with 20% of links going to promote articles/article directories, to continually raise the authority of the article directories.

These two features take care of the primary deficiencies I have seen/experienced with other link-building services: Allowing crappy articles/blog posts to get published and not having any organized way to promote and increase value/authority of directories or blogs where your links get published.

Bottom Line:

I would advise anyone who wants to build backlinks to their websites to sign up for EZArticleLink now, while it is still early-on and cheap.  Lock your price in now while it is still young and on the assent. When it becomes known how good this is, it will still grow bigger, but it won’t be cheap anymore! ;-)

More Good Backlinks? Fast?… How?

Search Engine Optimization No Comments »

Here’s an interesting solution to the problem of how to build lots of good backlinks fast.

There are several alternatives, contenders on the Net, for the backlink-building need. Almost all of them have serious flaws, most of which only became apparent after they were in full operation for a good while. The prominent flaws/structural design errors are:

1. They are entirely blog-based, get you backlinks from new blogs without PR or authority. So you get the links but the SE’s discount them deeply because of the low ranking status of the source blogs. And there is no built-in way to promote and raise the status of those host blogs.
2. They only indirectly help your “money” websites, by giving them links to increase rankings.
3. They automate, speed up the acceptance of postings without close human screening, and so fill up with low-grade almost incoherent posts, which lowers traffic towards zero and further devalues the post host.
4. They use blogs, not articles, so the “shelf life” of each post is lowered to 90 days or so (for blogs) rather than a year or two (for articles).

The guy behind EZArticleLink, Kenneth Koh, seems to have learned from all this and worked out ways to avoid all those mistakes. He has now come up with an impressive new system that:

1. Builds-in the promotion for the sites on which their articles are going to be posted, from the outset. You get three KW’s as in-text anchor links per article but you only get 80% of the backlinks. The other 20% are used for links back to KW’s in the article title, to promote the host site.
2. Deals primarily with websites, not just blogs
3. Uses human review of articles before publication to avoid low-quality, badly spun or trash articles ever getting into their system
4. Works on developing full-scale Article Directories on your websites. That should boost page count, be helpful to the host website. This also encourages members to put quality sites into the system to gain from this benefit. Result: Higher PR sites, more site authority the sites that host the article directories!

Yes, they spin their posts. Yes, they have a free membership (Silver) as well as a paid membership (Gold).

They got my attention. I signed up for a free membership a little over a month ago. Experience has been very good. Still in beta, but I like to start with projects in beta, help to shape them, learn the details of how they work.

I don’t know if you can still get a free membership or not right now, but the product is scheduled to launch and become available to all on February 22, 2010. The first 100 to sign up get in at only $24 a month, a steal at that price. The price will go up with every 100 new members until it levels off at $47/month.

If you are interested in helping with the launch, you can find details here.

I will post a link to the launch site here on the 21st or so…

MAN Test Project, 8 weeks and 4 days in…

Information Marketing in General No Comments »

It’s now 8 weeks and 4 days in (just about 2 months since I started) with my My Article Network test project! Here is how the stats stand now:

Jorge’s Statistics

Site Statistics

Overall, you have 25 sites registered on the system. For those sites you’ve been presented with 1,311 articles for consideration.

You’ve approved 929 and rejected 382, which means you’ve rejected 29%. You have 0 articles waiting for your decision.

In total, the system has successfully published 929 articles on your sites.

Article Statistics

You have 30 articles registered on the system. Those articles have been presented 789 times for consideration by site owners.

The articles have been approved 658 times and rejected 4 times, which means your articles have a rejection rate of 1%. A total of 127 copies are still waiting for a decision by site owners.

In total, the system has successfully published 683 copies of your articles. This number may differ from the number of approvals received for your article. When owners remove sites from the network, the article approval count is affected, but this published count is not affected.”

So to summarize the first two months, I have:
Spent 2 x $47 = $94
Written 30 articles
Gotten 683 well-spun copies of my articles published. Each article has 3 keyword phrases embedded in the text, which means 683 x 3 = 2,049 backlinks to my websites!
That comes to a cost of $94/2049 = $0.046 per backlink or 4.6 cents each!
In addition, 25 of my websites have gotten a total of 929 articles of “free” themed content. My webhosting sites have webhosting and related articles, my health and fitness sites have health and fitness articles, and so forth.

I say “free” because I am allocating all of the costs to the backlinks, none to the article content. If I allocated 10 cents of my total cost to each article placed on my sites for content, then that would burn up $92.90 of my $94 cost, and the backlinks would be essentially “free”.

Not too shabby, eh? :-)

I am still not happy at the article approval backlog, with 127 copies of my articles still waiting for site owners to approve them.

Nor am I exactly thrilled that while I have provided publishing space for 929 articles, MAN has only managed to find space to publish 683 copies of my articles on other members’ sites, a 246 articles published difference.

The two are not unrelated. If that 127 copies waiting for approval backlog were taken care of it would reduce that difference to 119.

Still, is the glass half full or half empty? 4.6 cents per (permanent) backlink makes the cost look like money well-spent.

MAN Test Project, 7 weeks and 3 days in…

Information Marketing in General No Comments »

It’s now 7 weeks and 3 days into this test of My Article Network. Backlinks continue to increase, but weaknesses and faults of the system have begun to appear.

First off, here’s my stats as of today:

Jorge’s Statistics

Site Statistics

Overall, you have 25 sites registered on the system. For those sites you’ve been presented with 1,047 articles for consideration.

You’ve approved 741 and rejected 306, which means you’ve rejected 29%. You have 0 articles waiting for your decision.

In total, the system has successfully published 738 articles on your sites.

Article Statistics

You have 28 articles registered on the system. Those articles have been presented 622 times for consideration by site owners.

The articles have been approved 514 times and rejected 4 times, which means your articles have a rejection rate of 1%. A total of 104 copies are still waiting for a decision by site owners.

In total, the system has successfully published 539 copies of your articles. This number may differ from the number of approvals received for your article. When owners remove sites from the network, the article approval count is affected, but this published count is not affected.”

That is 514 articles published on the web. Means 3 x 514 = 1542 backlinks. At $47 a month, I have spent $96 so far, for a cost per backlink of $96/1542 = $0.062 per backlink. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that:
1. My backlog of articles awaiting user approval continues to grow week by week, and has now grown to
104. Apparently there is no time limit on approval, no way to correct this. I should have 104 more articles published than have been, but these articles are in a kind of administrative limbo.

Admin acknowledges the problem but has no solution as yet.

2. The way this system works is essentially a closed system, “You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” setup. Every time an article is published on my sites, some other member/author gets his article published and his links out there become backlinks to him. The same is true for me. For every article of mine published, I get my three backlinks.

So the total number of articles published on sites logically must equal the number of articles published by authors. right?

But that is not what is happening. I have accepted 741 and 738 are still counted as published. But I have publishes 539 articles and 514 are still counted as published. In other words, I am giving publishing space to 738 articles but only 514 of my articles are being given publishing space. I am 224 short on the trade. Somewhere a person or persons unknown is/are 224 long. Who is getting the free ride???

That means that I am getting the “short end of the stick”! For every article of mine that has been published, I have accepted and published 738/514 = 1.44 for other members.

Now, I was not exactly promised parity, a 1 for 1 exchange, but I sort of expected the system to be fair and more or less provide that parity. I wasn’t told that someone else would get a free ride at my expense…

Still, I am getting backlinks. And the numbers of pages on my blogs is going up… Is the deal still worth it?

I don’t know right now. Stay tuned… Let me think about that for a while…

To your Internet success!

Here’s an Impressive Promo Scheme – And It’s Free!

Search Engine Optimization No Comments »

I did not get much done on my My Articles Network (MAN) project this last week, because I found another and was getting started there.

The project is E Z Articles Link, it’s impressive and it’s free. I found out about it through an Internet buddy who is working with them, so it is still an “insiders” opportunity at this point…

MAN is a fully-developed, mature setup with a network of more than 10,000 blogs to post your articles to. So it is good, but not cheap.

EZArtLink is a startup, now in pre-launch, expected to launch on February 22. They will have a paid membership and a free membership once they start. Right now, before Feb. 18, everyone gets in for free!.

The ideal way to promote your websites, blogs, etc., is to start off with a low-cost/no-cost promo project that grows. As a beta tester at first, you get in for free, and if you ever upgrade, you get special low, lifetime rates.

With both MAN and EZArtLink you get your articles published repeatedly on numerous websites. This means LOTS of backlinks. Article directories get more readers, but unless someone picks up a copy of your article and republishes it on their site, you only get the back links from the Article directory.

EZArtLink offers to set-up an article directory as part of your website, and stock it automatically for you! Fresh unique content and high page counts! But they can tell their story better than I can…

Go check out E Z Article Link. Looks like I am probably going to be testing them too… I have 3 sites registered there and 2 articles written so far.

Since I am already inside, I invite you to hit me with any questions you might have. Just leave a comment here…
